What to keep in mind in Peru
- The new Regulation introduces the role of the Personal Data Officer (Oficial de Datos Personales). Check whether your organisation must appoint one and from when.
- Even where it is not mandatory, a designated person makes dealing with the ANPDP and with data subjects easier.
- An outsourced DPO can cover the role while internal staff are being trained.
Expected result
- Management commitment documented and communicated
- DPO or data protection lead appointed
- RACI matrix defined for all key functions
- Reporting and governance meetings scheduled
